Geek Blog – Street Fighter Fan Film Ryu v Ken
Sometimes it’s really amazing how the passion of a fan can eclipse a budgetary powerhouse like a movie studio. So far the movies featuring a Street Fighter theme have not been that great (I still need to watch the Legend of Chun-li). The following film was put together simply as a tribute to Capcom and the 2d fighter they continue to improve with each iteration. My only complaint is Ken’s hair; otherwise, the choreography, sound effects and camera work are phenomenal.

Geek Blog – Street Fighter High
I love fighting games. The Soul Calibur franchise has my top vote as of today; however, my roots go back to the original Street Fighter II: The World Warrior (then SF2 Turbo: Hyper Fighting, and then Super SF2: The New Challengers). I passed up on SF3, but was excited to download Super SFIV on my Xbox360. The following video takes a prequel attitude and mashes the characters (including newcomer, Juri) into a “Saved by the Bell” scenario, with Ryu and Ken leading a cross-town varsity rivalry, Blanka parodying a ginger rant and messy love triangle between Guile, Chun-li and Ryu.
Choice lines from the video include:
“Is every part of you stretchy?”
and
“Joke’s on you. I’m not wearing socks!”
And of course, there’s always Cammy’s ass. Just out there, in plain view.
