Geek Blog – Math Geek Love Equation
This is for the GeekWife; I’ve been on the road from work for quite some time and now that I’m back, want to show her a token of appreciation. She’s a bit of Math Geek, and she loved the Harold and Kumar Root 3 Poem, so here goes:

Geek Blog – Still Alive
The ending credits start to roll. You now know the cake is absolutely, a lie. You’ve escaped the Aperture Science labs and outsmarted the sarcastic AI GLaDOS. Then you’re treated to an upbeat song penned by John Coulton: “Still Alive”; you have beaten Valve’s “Portal”, a unique, physics-based game where you can create doorways in walls, ceilings and floors, much like the ACME holes of Saturday Morning Cartoon legend.
Now, for some reason, I can’t stop listening to this song. When it comes up on my playlist, I turn it up. Apparently I’m not alone. Check out the following interpretations/covers of this song, the original and a special bonus after the jump. But first, enjoy this children’s choir rendition, complete with light show!

Geek Blog – Crazy, Crazy Maths
We all know the romance of √3. I just found out that 0.999… = 1 (also mentioned on Wikipedia). But were you aware that 7×13=28? More on the 0.999… after the jump.
Thanks, YT User ajnabimain69 for posting this video!
Geek Blog – Moby’s Wait For Me
I love listening to Moby. I haven’t seen any of his videos before.
This is a depressing video from YouTube user ministryofsoundde.
The animation and timing, however, are quite impressive, as is the music itself. Just a little sad, that’s all. I know I’ve had days where I’ve felt like this.
I hope you can find another video on this site to cheer you up.

Geek Blog – Mega Man Alphabet
My good friend, James posted this to my Facebook wall yesterday. The video will be on the Little Geek’s iPod as soon as I get home from the office. Poor Roll, stuck with the broom.

Geek Blog – Symphony of Science 4
The fourth video in the awesome series Symphony of Science brings us clips from Carl Sagan’s Cosmos, David Attenborough’s Charles Darwin and the Tree of Life, The Life of Mammals, The Living Planet, BBC Life, XVIVO Scientific Animations, IMAX Cosmic Voyage, Jane Goodall’s TED Talk, and a clever Guiness Commercial. The theme of this video is our planet’s amazing diversity and is called The Unbroken Thread.

Geek Blog – Middle English Rap
We’ve seen Shatner rap Shakespeare, and Klenginem rap in Klingon; this video takes it. The cake, that is. Red Yak produced the video (read the story here) and posted it under the YouTube user name veryredyak. The rhythm of Middle English really lends itself to a hip-hop medium, and Chaucer’s epic Canturbury Tales is poetic, hence the rhyming aspect. For my Word Origins/Linguistics course (medieval literature major) in college, part of my final was memorizing, and reciting (properly, which these guys to wonderfully) the General Prologue from the Tales.
Enjoy the video. There will be a direct translation after the jump.
