Geek Blog – Moby’s Wait For Me
I love listening to Moby. I haven’t seen any of his videos before.
This is a depressing video from YouTube user ministryofsoundde.
The animation and timing, however, are quite impressive, as is the music itself. Just a little sad, that’s all. I know I’ve had days where I’ve felt like this.
I hope you can find another video on this site to cheer you up.

Geek Blog – Lyrics for the Final Fantasy Theme
We all make up words for songs we hear on the radio. Some of us, even make up words for symphonic pieces. Gene Roddenberry devised (demised?) lyrics for his original Star Trek. The creme de la geek make up lyrics for popular video game themes.
YT user, brentalfloss put together this nice remix with lyrics. The Star Trek theme in action, after the jump.
Geek Blog – Halloween Fun
It seems we have a little bit of a Mario fetish at our house. Decals on the walls and shower curtains. Some of this has bled over into our Halloween fever. The GeekWife is an awesome tailor and always comes through with the best costumes for us (Halloween or not). This year is no different. More pics after the jump, including one of the little geek as a 900 year-old green guru.
Geek Blog – Mega Wall
8-bit art FTW! My Mega Man wall has finally come to fruition. From the moment we moved into our new house, I wanted to add some geek zest to a few rooms. I’ve already posted the beginnings of the Mario Bathroom (which will bleed over into the little geek’s room). For this project, I used an awkward wall in our office to post the 8×10 glossy prints of the Mega Man stage select screen. Mega Man 2 is my test case. Eventually, I’d love to move to digital picture frames, so I can cycle the bosses (or even turn some squares to empty) on a timer, by season, month, whatever.
More pictures after the jump.
Geek Blog – Apple Store Love Song
A funny, geeky music video put out by FAttYSPiNS. I strongly doubt I’ll ever fall in love at an Apple Store (A: Already Married, B: the only Apple gadgets I get are given to me, C: I build my own PCs). Regardless, this video has more than enough geek factor to be included on these pages. Enjoy!
Look out for their latest video: “Doin Your Mom” LOL

Geek Blog – TMBG New Music Video
BoingBoing debuted yesterday a new educational music video by my favorite band in the whole world, They Might Be Giants. Titled “Meet the Elements”, the video is a tribute the the periodic table and how elements combine to make everyday items, elephants and us!
TMBG have been orienting their music around educational topics for as long as I can remember. Hits that top my favorites list are (with video after the break):
Why does the sun shine? (The sun is a mass of incandescent gas, a gigantic nuclear furnace…)
Mammal
James K. Polk (Our 11th president!)
Dinner Bell
There’s Only One Everything (there’s only 1)
and many others!
Geek Blog – Vote Geek for small town mayor
I’m not the only geek in my family. In fact, my Uncle, on my mother’s side (he married my mom’s sister) is quite the geek – albeit in an old-fashioned sense. Paul Pilgrim, of Dillon, MT, rocks a fully-loaded pocket protector, enjoys doing taxes, reads-up on tax law in his spare time, enjoys a multitude of motion-picture entertainment, runs an old-school parisian dry cleaning business and has been questing for a position serving his community in public office for at least 15 years (first as Sheriff and now as Mayor).
Paul is a simple man, opting for a ride on a fixed gear bicycle in the local Labor Day parade, while his fellow office-seekers waved and threw candy from the cabs of their Dodge Pickups. This weekend, he deployed several handmade campaign signs, but has been known for his creativity in the past, employing keyrings bearing condoms in a past bid for sheriff. See Paul campaign below, and even if you’re not a voting resident of Beaverhead County, don’t forget to fulfill your civic duty and vote when called upon to do so.
Vote “Geek” 2009!

**EDIT: Word from my Aunt Ruth (hopefully soon to be the First Lady of Dillon) is that Paul has been campaigning for longer than 7 years. It was 7 years ago that the condom/keychain made headlines.**
