New trailers that caught my eye last weekend:
Alice in Wonderland: Tim Burton’s dark re-imagining, although backed by Disney is still quite like an acid trip. Johnny Depp gleefully plays the mad hatter, with Anne Hathaway as the White Queen and Helena Carter as the Red Queen. Other stars cast include: Alan Rickman, Michael Sheen, Stephen Fry, Crispin Glover and Christopher Lee. This is one of the Geek Wife’s favorite shows – I hope she loves it! In theaters March 5, 2010.
Tron Legacy: another re-imagining/sequel, also backed by Disney (again). Jeff Bridges reprises the role of Kevin Flynn, the main character from the 1982 film, who is apparently sought out by his son. The visuals on this should be amazing, judging by the trailer. It’s due out sometime in 2011.
Star Wars: Clone Wars, Season 2. Many hardcore Star Wars Geeks were a bit disappointed at the childish nature of the anime styled series and movie (this geek included, to a point); however, season 2 is said to be much darker, with more action and violence. A new bounty hunter makes his way on the scene and an apparent Mandalorian may join the ranks of evil against the Jedi. I’m still on board, but this makes me a little bit more excited about round 2.
